MindShift HR Brief and Invitation to Breakfast Seminar

STRATEGIC WORKFORCE PLANNING:

Improving Decision Making within Talent Management
to Achieve Business Strategies

Welcome to MindShift’s breakfast seminar!

MindShift will hold a breakfast seminar in Stockholm on May 20, 2010, during which we will share information and case examples that illustrate how HR and management can build Strategic Workforce Planning as an organisational capability.

At this seminar, we will explore how Strategic Workforce Planning can help your organization to address the following questions:

  • What does our business strategy mean for our workforce?
  • Do we face critical talent gaps today…or in the future?
  • How will the external environment impact our ability to recruit and retain the talent our business needs?
  • What types of actions do we need to take? What are the associated risks and costs?

…and discuss how it can impact business success.

Strategic Workforce planning is a forecasting and planning process that connects companies’ business strategies with their people strategies. The aim of Strategic Workforce Planning is to ensure that companies reach their strategic targets by having the right people in the right place at the right time and at the right cost.

In Strategic Workforce Planning, workforce data and other internal and external intelligence is used to drive discussions of workforce issues within management teams. This fact-based dialogue is the heart of strategic workforce planning, and its objective is better decisions.

Finding the right approach for your company

Your company has a unique culture and structure, as well as unique ambitions, challenges, and processes for planning and driving its future. MindShift believes that factors such as these must be taken into account in order to design an approach to workforce planning that works for your business.

MindShift supports organisations via:

  • identifying their needs, goals, and available inputs while defining an appropriate workforce-planning approach
  • designing workforce planning processes, including steps, roles, and responsibilities
  • identifying or developing supporting tools and materials
  • providing benchmark information and project management support
